Temple lands are encroached or allotted to politically influential people. Hundi collections are embezzled and there is large scale corruption in daily management of activities.

Inscriptions in temples give us evidence about how people involved in temple construction were compensated. Kings were not supposed to demand labour from people. There are also evidence of cultural programs being organised to entertain the craftsmen and labour. There is also evidence of pension being paid to craftsmen and labour.
